John Travolta: 'We Work Hard Every Day' to Recover from Son's Death
A year after the tragic death of their 16-year-old son, Jett, John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston say they “work hard every day” on healing – a message reinforced by their recent trip to deliver medics and supplies to earthquake-ravaged Haiti.
“Once you get yourself stable, then you’re able to reach out again,” Travolta, 55, told PEOPLE. “And I think this whole year, every day we’ve been working on stabilizing ourselves. And it’s been successful so far.”

Added Preston: “It helps to look out and be helpful to other people … that really helps.”

JOHN TRAVOLTA COLLAPSES!

Pressure of reliving son Jett’s death too much for superstar John Travolta.

John Travolta suffered a devastating emotional collapse as he prepared to relive the tragic death of his beloved son Jett in a courtroom, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

The Saturday Night Fever star was stricken on the eve of the trial of two conspirators who allegedly tried to blackmail him for $25 million while he and wife Kelly Preston were in the depths of mourning.

Travolta, 55, was determined to give evidence that would force him to recall the agony of the unsuccessful fight to save the life of his 16-year-old autistic son.

But the approach of his scheduled appearance at the trial in Nassau, Bahamas, that began on Sept. 21 took a terrible toll on the star, say sources.

“The worry over giving evidence had been eating away at John for months,” an insider told The ENQUIRER.

“Just the thought of going back to the country where he and Kelly lost Jett and having to live through that nightmare again became too much for him.

John Travolta Will Testify at Extortion Trial
Story photo: John Travolta Will Testify at Extortion Trial
John Travolta will testify at an extortion trial involving the death of his son, Jett, set to begin next week in The Bahamas, TMZ.com confirms.
Tarino Lightbourn, a paramedic who responded to Travolta’s call for help as Jett suffered a massive seizure in January, and Pleasant Bridgewater, a former Bahamian senator, face charges of conspiring to extort $25 million from Travolta so they wouldn’t go public with a document detailing Jett’s emergency care that day.
Both have pleaded not guilty.

Lightbourn performed CPR on Jett at the Travoltas’ Bahamian vacation home on Jan. 2, and also escorted the boy via ambulance to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Bahamian police allege that Lightbourn held on to a “refuse to transport” document — which waives responsibility from the ambulance crew if a patient does not want to be taken to a hospital — that Travolta allegedly signed that morning.
Two weeks after Jett’s death, Bridgewater, an attorney for Lightbourn, contacted Travolta’s lawyer to attempt to sell the document to the actor, according to Bahamian police.

Tom Cruise & John Travolta might remake Butch Cassidy

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is looking to team up with John Travolta to remake the classic 1960’s western Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Tom would play the part of Sundance, originally Robert Redford’s part, and John Travolta would take up Paul Newman’s role as Butch. The movie has been one of Tom’s favorites since he was a little boy and this would be a “labor of love” for him.
