We finally know where the cops took Mischa Barton yesterday.

The 23-year-old actress has been hospitalized and is currently under a doctor’s care after making a nonemergency phone call to the police on Wednesday, Barton’s rep confirmed to E! News Thursday.

“Ms. Barton was safely transfered to medical treatment for which she remains hospitalized, as per the recommendation of her doctor,” Craig Schneider said.

He opted not to comment on Access Hollywood’s report that Barton has been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Mischa Barton is the latest celebrity to pose nude for the cover of a major mainstream magazine.

Just months after Jennifer Aniston famously bared all for GQ, Barton — who was born in London — appears naked on the cover of Cosmopolitan UK with the blaring cover line, “Your Body Rocks!”

Barton’s body has been media fodder for years now — first when she was waifishly thin, then later when she was mocked for having cellulite (which she would claim was doctored into photos).

Barton tells Cosmo, “Surely there are more important issues than if someone has cellulite? And I don’t understand the point of people looking for bad things. Why bother? I know it’s human nature to want to pick on other people, but I find it a little shallow.”

She also claims she dropped a few sizes — going from a 12 to a 6 or an 8 — following her breakup last year from Rooney guitarist Taylor Locke.

“The only way to be happy and be a more enjoyable person to be around is to embrace what you’ve got,” she says. “Everyone has issues about their body, but I feel confident now. I’m healthy and happy.”
